We created the original teaser for Euphoria, which dropped just before the season finale of Game of Thrones, the most-watched HBO episode of all time. In addition to this teaser, we’ve also mixed behind-the-scenes footage and set tours with the cast and crew for both seasons one and two. Music is key to the vibe of Euphoria, so we kept it front and center in our mix.

The teaser begins with backwards-sounding synths and chipmunk soul-style vocals that immediately evoke the early 2000s (where the show is set). A breathy voiceover sits on top of this, as the main character runs down an empty street. The key here was getting the right balance between HBO’s score and the voiceover, creating an energetic atmosphere that is also intimate. As the narrator makes her key point we pause for emphasis, before bringing the levels back up for scenes of partying and pleasure.
